There are some exciting motorcycles in development.

Fischer

Fischer-mrx.jpg

The Fischer is an american made prototype sport bike. Fisher is going into production of it's MRX model motorcycle to be deliverd in May 2006.

From http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=25016

The MRX features many practical applications of emerging technologies.
The rigid new 3-piece aluminum frame and 2-piece swingarm were developed
by Fischer engineers at their Chicago-area facility, and are based on
MotoGP-derived chassis geometry originally developed by Gemini Technology
Systems. High performance adhesives, advanced nylon and plastic components,
and the latest pressure die-casting techniques make the Fischer MRX a
class-leading motorcycle.

For those of us who have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of a Fischer motorcycle, these are very exciting times.

Star Twin

Thunderstar.jpg

The Thunderstar is a deisel powered 1200cc inline tripple. This is an exciting project because it has impressive power characteristics and outstanding effeciencey claims. This bike has been covered in MCN among other places. Online the Kneeslider has provided coverage.

Images of the bike can be found here. 80bhp and 165

Some impressive claims about the bike include a 450 lbs. weight, 165 ft lbs. of torque, and outstanding 80 bhp (before mapping work) and 150 miles per gallon. Even if they turn out to somewhat less impressive the bike is still worth watching.

MotoCzysz

Now this bike is neat. A slim innovative design sporting a dual crank v four engine. The cranks rotate in opposing directions to counteract gyroscopic forces. An american bike, and one to watch.

Press includes the Kneeslider, and Twisting Asphalt. Dead tree coverage of the C1 includes a Cycle World cover in 2005. Anyone know what issue that was?

Norton

Commando rear.jpg

The 961/SS Commando represents a new beginning for Norton Motorcycles. Designed and built from the ground up, this bike continues the Norton legacy of defined style and performance.

This modern roadster reflects the soul of the original machine. Classic sculptural forms are combined with raw functionalism, laying beautiful shapes over a structural frame and muscular motor; resulting in a visual language that is both sensual and purposeful. With a very narrow waist and curves in just the right places, the 961/SS is a bike that feels as good as it looks.

The 961/SS Commando is the first new Norton model to be launched from the all new Commando Platform. This platform is the basis for multiple models in the coming years, including the Commando, Commando ‘S', Dominator, and Atlas. Each new model will draw inspiration from the past and build on the Norton legacy for the future.

Future development will also lead to the introduction of the all new, state-of-the-art, Manx Platform. These completely modern motorcycles, including Manx and Interstate, will represent the ultimate expression of the Norton brand.
